The BBC is set to launch "The Celebrity Traitors," a star-studded spin-off of the popular reality series "The Traitors," this autumn. The show will be hosted by Claudia Winkleman and will feature 19 celebrities competing in a series of psychological games and challenges.
The contestants include comedian Alan Carr, singer Cat Burns, actress Celia Imrie, and television presenter Clare Balding. Other notable participants are historian David Olusoga, former England rugby player Joe Marler, and comedian Joe Wilkinson. The lineup also features television presenter Jonathan Ross, journalist Kate Garraway, and comedian Lucy Beaumont. Additionally, actor Mark Bonnar, comedian Nick Mohammed, and social media personality Niko Omilana will join the competition. Singer Paloma Faith, actress Ruth Codd, actor Stephen Fry, and "EastEnders" star Tameka Empson complete the diverse cast.
Filming for the series began on 22 April 2025 at Ardross Castle and concluded the following month. The show consists of nine episodes, set to air over three weeks. Claudia Winkleman expressed her excitement about the cast, stating, "We're incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I’d love to say we'll take it easy on them and they'll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie."
"The Celebrity Traitors" is expected to bring a fresh twist to the original format, combining the intrigue of the original series with the star power of its celebrity contestants. The show is set to premiere on BBC One in the autumn of 2025.
Fans of the original "The Traitors" series can look forward to this new iteration, which promises to deliver suspense, strategy, and entertainment. With a lineup of well-known personalities, "The Celebrity Traitors" is poised to be a highlight of the television season.
